Buddh International circuit will host the maiden F1 Indian Grand Prix that will be held from October 28th in Noida, New Delhi. This international track was unveiled to the world on October 18th. Here are some interesting points about the Buddh international track!
  • The name "Buddh" is derived from the word BUDDHA, which means peace and calm.

  • The length of the entire circuit is 5.137 kilometres.It is part of the 2500-acre large Jaypee Green Sports City in Noida, that will also be home to a 100,000 seat cricket stadium, 18-hole golf course, 25,000 seat hockey stadium and a sports academy.

  • The expected lap time for a Formula One car around the 5,137m long track, is 1 minute, 27.02 seconds, at an average speed of 210.03 km/h 

  • Critics say that the track will prove to be very challenging for drivers. Indian racer Narain Karthikeyan said that the circuit was one of the best he had ever seen.

  • The complex will employ 10,000 people for its functioning and upkeep. 
  • The Formula One music concert will be headlined by international rock band, Metallica. Pop sensation Lady Gaga is expected to perform at the after party.

  • The sports complex is expected to cost Rs 40 billion and generate 170 millon dollars in revenue annually

  • Formula One cars will be able to reach a top speed of 318 km/hr on the track.

  • The grounds will initially be able to seat 110,000 people and this will be gradually increased to 200,000.

  • Tickets for the grand stand are priced at Rs 35,000, classic stand tickets are Rs 6,500 and picnic stand tickets are Rs 6000 per ticket. However, the group has slashed prices to encourage more people to attend the races.

  • Formula One India will begin on October 28, and the final race will take place on October 30
